US presidential approval methodology
Follows the global methodology, with the deltas below. Source spec: MKT-USA v1.1 (locked) + source-architecture v1.6 (locked).
What this is
A daily tracker of US presidential approval and disapproval. It estimates where approval currently stands from published polls; it is not a prediction.
How it differs from the global standard
- •Approval, not vote intention: the figures are approve / disapprove of the president, not party vote share.
- •Field-cluster benchmark: the estimate is judged against the full field of major aggregators rather than any single one. The field average and median are the trust benchmark — no one aggregator is treated as ground truth.
- •Tiered sourcing: sources are organised into reliability tiers, with documented eligibility and a defined fallback path, so the tracker stays current even if one source breaks.
How to read it
It reflects the polls and the chosen field of sources; it does not second-guess them. Current figures are on the live approval tracker.
